DOUBLE VISION

Louis Gibbs

You may wonder why

At times I appear distracted,

Somewhat confused.

Blame it on double vision;

One eye observing

That which surrounds me,

The other captivated

By the horizon,

And beyond.

    WE should always look at both our lives and what is beyond them. Good deep write.

          Your excellent poem made me re-evaluate my own vision, and I realized that I must have a third eye, the one looking backwards at the road traveled. You do have this great abillity to say so much with very little. Kudos!

            Much has been said and written about the third eye we all possess, Fred. It sees much. Thank you for your very kind remarks, my friend.

            Great write Louis. I thought I was the only one distracted here. I say I have a scattered mind that flys everywhere and my eyes flutters more than a butterfly. Is this distraction or interest? I'm not sure. Lovely little piece.

              Could be either or both, I suppose. Thanks for your lovely comment, Malu, and for making it a fav!

              • Poetic Dan

                As I read your words my mind was set free, even struggling to finish them as my focus became blurd.
                Brilliant!

                  I'm flattered that it had so profound an impact, Dan. Thank you for sharing this!
