The love can never change

david

As far as I was concerned,
there was only ever
you and I.
That's all I could see.
You and I.
I could see nothing else.
I could see no other.
I could think of no other.
Just you and I.
Ultimately, you fled.
You couldn't wait to get out.
Your chair is now empty.
No one sits there.
But I still remember
when it was only ever
you and I.
The love hasn't changed.
Your chair is now empty,
but the love
remains the same.
It can't change.
It was love.

  • Comment from author about the poem: People enter in and out of love, seemingly. But not really. Love has no form, no specifics, no requirements, no end date, no beginning and no termination. Love transcends all.

The truth of love is expressed so eloquently in this poignant read David and your own comment above bears out the face that real love never dies and cannot fad. A compelling read.

Love certainly does transcend all. Good write.
