All seasons

malubotelho

Don't say goodbye yet, for it is only spring and the mango tree is just blooming. Now you can see the flowers resting, its little buds just grouping, but soon the golden juices, will be sweet and running. Wait for the smell of it, I know you can stay for just a treat.

Don’t say goodbye yet, keep your pace, for it is now summer, the sun will burn your head
the rain will wet your face.
The nights are so hot now, maybe you don’t find another place. The mangoes are so ripe and sweet, you can wait a little bit. Wait till the next season, let’s find one more reason.

Don’t say goodbye yet, for autumn is about to come, with all the fallen leaves, the wind will take its turn,
will dry your skin, will fly away your hat, yes, wait a little more, it is not time yet. The birds are happy singing
We should just take a chance,
Invite the neighbors tonight
create a little dance.

I know you are ready to say goodbye, but now the nights are cold, if no place you find to sleep,
If no hands you find to hold.
The winter is around the corner, it is tough outside, we can make popcorn, lit the fire inside. Hot soup is on the way, wait just one more day, I promise, tomorrow,
I won’t ask you to stay.

Ok, I shall stay all year! It will be torture though, mind ya, cos I shall sing all year! I shall never leave. lol.

Orch, I heard you are getting married. Are you singing your bride to the altar? Thanks Orch. Appreciate your visit.

Yes I am lol. But it's a ghastly choice. Look up UK people - Kate Price (a celebrity, or so-called) and Shirley Carter, from a UK soap. Also, look up Worzel Gummidge, as Shirley is Worzel's sister I reckon! heehee. Much more of this daftness and I shall be believing it!

Heart-breakingly beautiful, Malu! A tender and haunting plea, this one. Well done!

Thanks Louis. I’m trying to write light things. Forget about the bad and heavy stuff for now.

Let me know if you figure out a way to do that. Good luck.

I think this is one of your best, Malu! If I were that man you are writing about, I would never, ever, leave! Just the idea of using the four seasons for this love poem is awesome!

              • malubotelho

Thanks Fred. Happy that you liked it. I’m trying to take new directions and be light on my writings. I like this one too.
