Chess Board

SomethingStrange

A chess board

Simple and plain

The rules are simple

No pain no gain

This pawn is taken

The bishop is down

A knight has fallen

But the Queen keeps the crown

But that pawn had a child

She was only three

A precious little angel

Torn apart viscously

The bishop adored his wife

They couldn’t bear to be apart

This is why it came as a shock

When a bullet tore through his heart

A knight was once a boy

He dreamed of saving his home

But he was mercilessly slain

And died all alone

But why does it matter

You won the game

Who are they to question

Your power and fame
