This particular lifetime
Has played out to perfection,
Couldn't ask for a better outcome.
All is well,
But not 'okay';
Unfortunately there is
No way that I can find peace,
While other aspects of 'Self" suffer so.

- Comment from author about the poem: That relentless, omnipresent feeling inside eating away, keeping me unsettled and distracted by quietly nagging; "It's not okay ... not okay ... something is not okay!" I've had an intense global awareness as long as I can remember ... always been empathic to the world's suffering. I'm sure that the many sensitive poets here can relate.

Louis, I know exactly where you are coming from here. While our immediate environment may be well, the same cannot be said of the whole.
Nor should it be, I think. This is a learning ground after all. But it does weigh on me, Thanks so much for your support, and for being you, Fred!
That 'peace' within oneself can be hard to reach but in life we just need to keep on trying to reach it, it is there and it can be reached but the wonder of trying to reach it is our life's work.
Very good write Louis.
Words of wisdom, Goldie! Thank you.
A fine write Louis.
I appreciate that, 'O'!
Inspirational writing, I feel these words so deep. This will change but from our prospective of time, it may take awhile 😉
A while, indeed. Unless it all hits the fan suddenly. Could come down either way. Keeps us on our toes, doesn't it? Thanks for your comment, Dan!
Yes, although from being shown this lack of awareness from a little boy, I can say my toes are never down. I've been waiting for this all to come crashing down, no more hiding or secrets of this world.
Think I just started a new piece of in my head, thanks for the inspiration!
Write on!
Just finished... 3rd one today. I love this site and all your minds but you just help me do what I like the most, thinking we can change the world!
We've created it, certainly we could we change it. Good thoughts, Dan.
I can't think global without some fear and depression. The world is a dangerous place and getting worse , I wish we had some leaders I had some confidence in .....
The global mess is the elephant in the room for me. I'm glad you are able to shut it out, at times at least, WL. Wise leaders would be nice, but they come few and far between, don't they. Thanks for reading and commenting!
Inner peace comes with the acceptance of the outer world as it exists. We can control only our place in it. Personally, I believe the world gets better every day. Happiness is attainable to more persons on this Earth than ever before. Hope you're feeling better, soon. Well done poem. - Phil A.
Many thanks for your thoughts, Phil! Hang on to that enviable optimism. I appreciate the compliment.
