The Magic of Mozart.

Goldfinch60

It happened again

Once more I stopped,

Stopped writing,

Stopped reading,

Stopped as this music

Sailed into my soul.

The Queen of the Night

Came into the light of my day.

Her glorious notes

Sailing through me.

The beauty so wondrous,

All I could do was listen in wonder

As this rapturous song assailed me,

Yet again he overwhelmed me

As once more his magic took me,

Took me to that heaven,

That heaven that is,

The magic of Mozart.

Incredible music, incredible poem! It is amazing what music can do to us, or maybe better for us.
As a side note, even though my mother tongue is German, without the subtitles I wouldn't have understood a word!

I am fluent in two languages Fred, English and Rubbish. I too need subtitles.

Thank you for your kind comment I am a bit of a Mozart nut I have all his recorded TWICE, one set on CDs and one set on an ipod.

A fine write Gold. Any Mozart at the 1066 reunion - the evening soiree?

        • Goldfinch60

Sorry Mozart wasn't born until 1756, don't you remember us seeing him born and that first symphony written a day later!

I saw a special on Mozart a while back. Interesting how a guy could be such a jerk personally, as well as a genius musically. I suppose his muse wasn't judgmental. Not a 'nice' person, but what gifts he gave us! Good write, Goldie!

Thank you Louis, it just goes to prove how music can let us forgive such a man.

A wonderful poem. I find it amazing what music can inspire us to do and feel. As other writers have said, even after decades and centuries. Well done!
