They say one cannot heal
Without coming to terms
With their past.
So they say.
And how far back should one go?
How many past lives be revisited?
To what end would be the review,
Since all that exists
Is the Now?

Now is so important, grab every moment, they are wonderful. Good write Louis.
Thank you for your upbeat comment, Goldie! Much appreciated.
It all matters but not as much as being here now. Great work!
It all matters to the extent that any part of this dream of reality matters, I would agree. But the present is all we can interact with, isn't it. Thank you so much for the supportive comment, Dan!
And thank you for your inspiration on my last post called life is truth.
Ain't we got enough to do with this 'present life', let alone past lives - which I think is bunkum myself!? A fine write as a poem.
You would orphan all of your former selves? Even the one at the Battle of Hastings! Alas, 'O', they must be terribly sad. But I must agree, we have enough to do with the present life. Thank you for your kind comment, my friend.
An excellent write. "To what end"....exactly! If there were past lives then there must be future ones, so enjoy the one you are living. - Phil A.
Well put, Mended. Enjoy it indeed!
Another great and thought provoking poem, Louis.
Living in the now is what we are supposed to be doing in this life. Live and learn!
The reviews of our past lives will come after we cross over. At least that is my take on this.
With which I concur, Fred. Thank you for your continued support, my friend!
Well spoken, Diamond! Thanks.
All we can reasonably handle is the now and you have versed this so clearly here for us Louis - - a brilliant write.
Yes, I find the 'nows' to be all that I can handle, and then some now and then. Thank you so much for the kind words, Fay!
beautiful rumination. May we all spend more time in the head space that created this piece.
Thank you so much, PA!
i like this poem... i'm into the now past, past :))))
Have you found anything useful there? The now past, past only serves to bring me down, so I avoid it. Thanks for commenting, Avigail!
Yes, it is, the PERFECT PRESENT. Simple effective writing. Lovely!

there is a lovely story called the perfect present. Have you ever read it or were aware of it?
