That Day

youngandnaive

I eagerly await that day,
When I can sit down
On a rusty bench
In an unkept
Or perhaps prim garden,

When I can lay
On top of tall
Blades of dewy grass
In a forgotten field,

When I can stand
At the peak of a
Proud mountain,
The gale lifting my hair and spirits,

And close my eyes;
Simply sighing to myself
In utter contentment,
Because finally,
Life has fallen into place.

Y&N, I had to make this a favorite. It is well written, but it is the subject and especially the last stanza that got me!

Had to read more of your work. There is a certain naivety about it which is so captivating and which many strive to achieve and fail. I look forward to reading more in the future.
