somehow something

dusk arising

somehow something i do has upset the world that we knew
we no longer talk
and everyday's thoughts
take a turn to deep blue

somehow something you do enlightens each page every day
now every word
has me feeling absurd
searching for something to say

i never thought so much of so little
     those games we once played
no never a thought but i'm caught in the middle
of an act we have staged

somehow something we've shared reassures from your eyes
with you understanding
never demanding
or reason our will to survive

i never thought so much of so little
      those games we once played
one day would provide the key to the riddle
      such mistakes we have made

somehow something we do lives along and holds us like glue
really amazing
how lifes crazy paving
adheres me and you

A great poem. So true to life, so relatable! When you have a relationship you need that glue for when things get shaken up. Awesome!

Great write! Relationships may waver or wander. If we’re fortunate to have a relationship with a significant other, the glue is necessary. The older we get, the stronger the glue!

Wonderful write, sometimes that glue that holds you together just stays so strong.

Hi Joe. Thank you for commenting on this piece. It is written as a song and does have a melody line already. Would be cool to hear your interpretation and edit.

I had in mind the overall feel created by Everything But The Girl on their early album Eden which i liked very much. Worth a listen.

This is so bloomin well structured and fits the page which frames it perfectly ...

and then of course .. after the aesthetics .. we come to the content itself which leaves the reader in no doubt about the depth and range of feeling/s that served to inspire this smashin bit o poetry ....
