I see your shallow beauty
Shine dully in the night
You think you look the business
To me you just look shite.
That dress is made of nylon
That makeup on too thick
Yer fake tan looks like fingerpaint
And all you want is dick.
Your looks are fadin' sweetheart
You're too far down the line
You're past the point of no return
You know that well and fine.
I wonder what it's like
To be an easy score
To do this every night
And still come back for more.
I wonder if there's someone
You might have been but then
Whenever you climbed higher
You fell back down again.
You need to be the best
That each has ever had
You know you're only good
For being the best bad.
And somewhere maybe someone
Remembers still a time
When you had thoughts of being
To one man only "mine".
So go on used up lover
Sing the same old song
The futures far behind you
The past still lingers on.

Very sad but extremely emotive write.
Thanks Goldfinch
As always.
This is a really good and raw poem! I've seen gals like this and it truly makes me sad. I agree with Santita 100%. Excellent job!
Thanks.
Yes. It's sad. Like alcoholism or drug addiction.
