One foot after the other
Beat one foe, here comes another
My heart lets out a shout
Banishing all traces of doubt
Raw fire seeping through my veins
Determined to push through this pain
Head up, chin high, looking straight ahead
Fighting back against the demons in my head
Failure drops upon me like a stone
A boomerang returning no matter how hard it’s thrown
It’s bitterness a familiar guest on my tongue
One battle lost doesn’t mean the war has been won
With hope spilling from my eyes
And dreams held fast within my heart
From the bottom I will rise
A fire born, burning a path, a new start
Hear me now and remember my name
My unyielding spirit and desire I can’t tame
The future’s in my hands, my past left behind
Living in my raging soul, speaking my mind
