Drunk on Love
You wake up in the morning
A different person than the night before
A rare smile on your face
A smile of love forevermore
That was just the beginning
Of what for me is ageless
The passion of love within
Worth many a lifetime’s wages
Yes I’m drunk on love
But is that not our life’s goal?
Someone’s smile in our heart
To thoroughly enrich our soul
I drink of her smile
Every day and night
Let it intoxicate me
To feed my inner light
For she is the inspiration
That turns my lyrical wheels
Sharon, the truest love of my life
For no one else has love felt so real
Believe you not
That money makes the world go round
It’s the feeling deep in your heart
For that certain smile you found
Love is worth more
Than all the world’s diamonds and gold
Heaven in your arms, you’ll think
For love can’t be bought or sold
And love for this woman
Will be my biggest weakness
My greatest strength
Spawned from her uniqueness

Another beautiful write AP! The last stanza says it all! Enjoyed the Beatles! Another favorite!
~Laura~
Thanks Laura for reading and your compliment.
wow, powerful writing right here and the sentiments are solid, from a heart that cares to love with all of it. I love the flow and the rhyming of your work. it's a great and moving piece.
Thank you so much Kevin. I'm delighted that you like my poem My intent was exactly as you describe. Thanks for reading and complimenting.
This is beautiful! very well written
Shannon, so good to hear from you. We've all missed you. And thank you for your compliments.
A fine tribute to your love, AP! You are a fortunate man, indeed.
Thanks Louis. I'm realizing that I'm fortunate in many ways. One of which is to have such great friends here who're so supportive and generous with compliments. It's friends like you and all my readers who make me feel so comfortable writing here at MPS. Thank you Louis.
Couldn't have said it better myself, AP! 🙂
Seriously, this poem grabbed me, and yes, love is life's goal! So well written, Kudos!
Oh come on Fred, you could have easily written this even better than I. But I thank you for your kind words.
Indeed, you are drunk. You can earn money, you can buy treasure, but not love, not the beautiful smile. Keep being drunk.
It seems that you have solved the issue of posting video.
m&m, where have you been? We've missed you. Thank you for your compliment. And yes I figured it out with the help of Ron Parrish AKA wordman. He said something about the code on Youtube. So I took another look on Youtube and I found a different code that I wasn't using before, and that is what worked. Still haven't figured out adding the photograph yet though. The solution to that problem has not presented itself yet. These things like to play hide and seek with me. But I'll get it sooner or later. Thanks again.
I just took a break. I was kind of lost, but a lot better now. Thank you.
Wonderful write AP! Moving sentiment in every line. Loved it!
Well I'm happy you enjoyed it Christina. Thank you for reading and your compliment.
Wonderful poetry drunk on the love that flows through your veins .
Thanks Bill, another one of those writes that just all fell into place fairly easily and works well. Thanks for reading and your compliment.
we`re nothing without love,
loved the write
Good write showing the power that love has over you, and over us all, may that love grow forever stronger.
