Forever proud

Poetic Dan

First day back without your gift
My shores are bleak with emotionless

Always awaiting for the tide to come in
Memories of moments to never forget

To be told by a stranger how polite and calm you wait
Shows this world with its labels, should think again

The goodness inside you shines so bright
With the energy of your magical hugs
A smile that can light the darkest of days
You being you makes this a better place

Every second that goes by, I hope this society does not affect or make you hide the greatness that changed my life.

Dan, riding along on a bike like that I would have the same grin on my face! Love the picture, great kid, and as a father of three who was Mr. Mom a lot (my wife worked as a flight attendant), I know exactly how you feel. Great poem!
