Affliction

Olivia Mae

She placed her hands
In the middle of my soul
Where I locked them up
And now she had control.

Each part of my soul
Intertwined between
The gaps in her fingers,
Destruction I could not have foreseen.

My heart, my body, my soul
Every inch belonging to her
She buried herself into me
But this pain no human could bare.

As easily as she became
Part of my one
She ripped it away
Like it was all just for fun.

Without thought, without rationality
She ripped my heart open
Left it bare to the earth
Without a word spoken.

I patched myself up
Like a patched up quilt
Fragile at the seams
Affliction in all I had built.

She dug her fingers
Deep into my wounds
I bled and I bled
My happiness she precludes.

My body is no longer
My own to call home
Infected with her poison
These streets I am left to roam.

Now I have found another
And her poison is seeping out
I weep in the sunlight,
Because I’ve finally had my blackout.
