The Wolf and Unicorn

poetsinspire

As I sung my song of woe

my nose picked up the smell of doe

I chased my prey on through the forest

hoping it is not the fastest

I caught the deer to my dismay

for what I caught was not a deer

it was a unicorn I fear.

As I trembled in my skin

the unicorn had sat within

a tree which had been hollow still

until she jumped down with great skill

and ran away on through the forest

never seen by man or wolf.
