Innocence Lost

FredPeyer

She appeared in my life

Like a dream

One day I was content

The next was hell

I wanted her

Had to have her

Could not live

Without her

My prayers were

Answered

As she came to me

The most beautiful

Woman I had ever seen

We made love

All night long

By morning she was

Gone

Taking with her

My innocence

My sanity

And my future

What a very good write Fred, did she ever come back?

    • FredPeyer

Thanks, Goldfinch! I think it is up to me since she only exists in my imagination. Have to think about it. Maybe I'll bring her back in the future.

A fine write Fred. I wish she (KP) would go from my life. No chance! lol.

        • FredPeyer

thanks orchidee, but think, she might take your dignity, innocence, sanity, and future as well with her! Are you willing to give all that up?

          • Accidental Poet

Orchi, divorce is a costly thing. You\'re gonna have to give up something.
            Great write Fred.

Love the story within this poem!!

            • FredPeyer

Thank you Shannon, there is always a story, isn't it. There is always meaning between the lines and it is up to the reader to use his/her imagination.

Ah, the power of an alluring woman to destroy a good man. Well portrayed here, Fred! Good write.

              • FredPeyer

Thanks Louis, how good that man was is debatable. He was ready for a one-night stand, throwing caution to the wind....
