Losing Air

Brooke Snyder

“Just take deep breaths” they say.
But there is nothing to breathe,
nothing is left for me.
The world is collapsing on my soul,
and I’m collapsing with it.
My mind is no longer with me,
I lost it in our world of anger.
Slowly my heart is dying ,
In the hands of the world.
Painfully watching people ,
losing air.

Well written, Brooke! With all that is going on in this world, it does seem as if we are running out of air! We are definitely running out of time.
Good poem, good point! Makes one think.
