hum-drum

dusk arising

The wind blew the leaves over the fence again
always more leaves to rake away
rain, driving to work through that rain
wet hair and soaking shoulders at the office
nightime, driving home through the curtain of dark
which held the childhood bogeyman
sleep

So simply expressed - so simple - so good.

A fine description of an average day, da! There is so much feeling and emotion in these few simple words. Love it!

Thank you Fred. This piece was in fact a layout of an idea for a poem, i found it conjoured up all kinds of possibilities/pictures/atmosphere in my own mind. So i left it as u see it. Knowing it would be read by others with similar mental/artistic capability I decided to publish and see if poets here would find enough materials within it to create a mood picture. You obviously did and i thank you sir for your kind comment.

I get a comfortable feeling from this. I also love the title lol

Ah' yes.. there is a point just before sleep where anything and everything can seem real or possible .. I remember it well.. sometimes too well and certainly more clearly than any of my journeys to work.... N
