Where Did you go...Daddy?

Where Did you go...Daddy?

There is a place between live and die
Where a hero rests and The Star Spangled Banner flies
Just beyond our reach
not far from Omaha Beach
Or shores of Tripoli
It’s Americas pride we can see
And feel for it was he who made our freedom real
The veteran who defended our honor
And bestowed his life upon her
He whose family will mourn
As the son he never met is born
And grows missing a man he will not know
Till he asks:

Where Did you go...Daddy?
Where Did you go?

“To defend all that you have my son
All that is, and all that will be
For I gladly give my life so that YOU WILL BE FREE!”
