Every once in a while you get someone writing a poem about the glories and wonders of my poetic side
A place many of us turn to pour out the greatest secrets of the heart, where none have to hide
A place many of us witness the ink peeling off our screens and bursting with life at its seams
A place for us to voice our despair, our hope, and share our most dearly held dreams
There is not my poetic side
It is our poetic side
This past year I feel with every word I have written, I have grown
Reborn with every step forward, into a brand new me
Enraptured with friends, learning things I’ve never known
Realizing my true passions and taken the path to one day become who I want to be
This is not an ode of greatness
This is not a description of our unity
This is a thank you, a thank you for when we were all we had
Faceless yet heartful, all there through times both good and bad
Through my life this past year I’ve truly been alive
Racing past my fears and ready to thrive
We are strangers telling tales we’d never speak to our closest friends
We are strangers united despite distance, through our sentence-formed bridges
We are strangers whose words can touch deep within the heart
This is not my poetic side
This is our poetic side

A fine anniversary write Poetboy.
Thank you Orchi!
Oh what a delight to read such a tribute to this friendly site Poetboy - it is all that you write and hoping your next year helps with the moving forward.
I'm glad you enjoyed it Fay!
A fine tribute to "our" poetic side! Yes, I feel the same way, "telling tales we'd never speak to our closest friends". It's a very intimate community of people. Glad to have you here for the past year and hope to have you longer than that! 🙂
Indeed, and thank you!
I share your feelings in this fine tribute to MPS, poetboy. Congratulations, on both the poem and your anniversary!
