THE JUNGLE IN THE MEDIA

chellybelly

It’s a jungle in there.

The wild, cruel Animals hide in there,

All shapes and colours of Animals hide

Some march in the Light as some hide from the Light.

The tamed  jungle, more like the feral city

It’s a jungle in there.

The city is full of crazed Animals;

White, black, brown and mixed.

Some show DOMINANCE, and portray FEAR of others.

Others may be Graceful  but FEARED by some

These others are beaten upon, even though they are just as Strong.

If to fight back, it could lead to their Death.

To be portrayed is to be labeled;

To be labeled is to be feared.

This fear we find unfair;

It’s a jungle in there.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem was for a school project but I enjoyed it so much that I thought I'd share it. It is a 16 unrhymed poem about how the media affects today's people. There is large symbolism that people will see differently.

    Awesome poem.

  • BRIAN & ANGELA

    WELCOME CB ~ Thanks for your first poem ! I loved it. The MEDIA has a big effect on all our lives and the metaphors you use are both apt and powerful ! It really is JUNGLE and a DOG eat DOG environment. I work in a College and my day to day life at work is like PARADISE compared with the MEDIA. My private life is peaceful too because I live alone in a Flat but I do have a LADY FRIEND (see todays Poem ! ) who cares for me and some nights we share ! Angela shares a FLAT with her Friend & Colleague RUTH ! In the UK Media is vicious ! At the Moment the MEDIA is Naming & Shaming and one MP has already committed SUICIDE and he was an Honourable Man ! The MEDIA is so so fickle but it can make or break people ~ and so much NEWS today is in essence FALSE ! Thanks for caring & sharing ! I love CANADA because it is so so vast and you don't get in each others way like we do in the UK ! I think you have about 100 times more space per person ! A Friend of mine (ALAN) married a Girl from Winnipeg ~ where he now lives and (despite the WINTER !) he is 100 times happier ! More poems please ~ Yours BRIAN (UK) Please check my POEMS ~ Thanks B.
