I sit in the classroom while the teachers talk
Their words mean less than nothing to me
I’m not bent because of what’s going on now
I’m bent because I could be broken beyond repair
I won’t just snap I’ll be shattered
Pieces will fly everywhere
Some will be lost forever
We made promises
Promises forever
There was a time where she couldn’t stand not talking to me
Now she can't stand talking
I don’t even know if things are gonna end
I can’t even handle being bent
If she walks away she’ll be an unaware executioner
My heart won’t pump
My brain won’t think
My nerves won’t feel
I won't be living
But I’ll be alive
I’ll have no action
But I’ll act
For the people around me, I’ll be resurrected
but...
If she leaves I’ll be….
Gone

WELCOME FRIEND ~ Thanks for your first poem ~ so so poignant and a situation most of us can empathise with ! UNREQUITED LOVE ! It does bend us (and I have often been bent by Love !) but we must not let it break us ! I have had Lady Friends (over the past 17 years ~ half my life) and in some cases our hearts beat as ONE and then suddenly we were TWO AGAIN ~ It happens in all relationships between TWO PEOPLE of whatever gender ! My MANTRA is to learn something positive from each relationship and say "Better to have loved & lost than never to have loved at all" It's never easy to say just after the event ~ but easier in time ! At the moment I am in a positive relationship with ANGELA ~ read todays POEM ~ which I trust will last ! Thanks for sharing ~ Thinking of YOU ~ Yours BRIAN (UK)
i feel you.
