The Break Up

I could see it

A future like no other

I remember

That first day I saw you

I had hope

Hope that we would be close

I was careful

Careful not to move too fast, be too honest

I was scared

When you grew distant

Memories of heartbreak playing over and over

I was lonely again before I actually lost you

I was nervous about having to move on

Move on without you in my life

Please

Give us another chance

I thought what we had was good

I thought you knew

I love you

  • Comment from author about the poem: Don't worry! my bf and i did not break up....this is an old poem I found on my google account and decided to post so that I may have more time to develop the one i am working on now. The method I used in this one is a method i use often. I come up with a topic or a single word and write down as many relate-able things as I can. I then use this list to create the poem. Some are short like this one, others are quite long. I don't like following rules when writing....if you haven't noticed....
