Tune: University College
('Oft in danger, oft in woe')
********
Hope starts with the gospel shown
Evangels it us make known
The good news shared, forgiveness
Eternal life, nothing less
Hope in Jesus, He the one
He the Father's only Son
Makes all this here possible
For all who do on Him call
Call on Him, salvation take
He the Way to God does make
Going through the narrow gate
And strait pathway, celebrate
Hope comes from the Scriptures true
Read each day and find anew
Comforts for each spirit, soul
And for body, be made whole
Hope comes from the power sure
Of the Spirit evermore
Holy Spirit, one of three
Person of the Trinity
He to guide, to strengthen, fill
With His presence, guard from ill
That we may abound in hope
And joy, in Him daily cope
Hope can inspire endurance
To go on with wisdom, sense
Not to give up, not hopeless
Hope will encourage and bless
Hope can produce joy, so we
Have good cheer, God's servants be
Not downcast, but lively spring
Motivation shall hope bring
Hope, it should not be misplaced
Nor be unevenly paced
Hope not in world's riches, wealth
That deceive, waylay by stealth
Hope of Christ's return us gives
Power over sin, He lives
For we know when Him we see
We shall complete like Him be
And each one who has this hope
Walks in the light, does not grope
In the darkness, for they do
Purify themselves anew

Great write
Thanks Tony.
Welcome
I thank God for your talent!
Thanks wc. It's not completely original. I noted the points in bold from an overhead projector as the talk went on.
Thanks for posting this piece on hope. Your write on it was fantastic!
Thanks Christina.
Hope and the light, which continues to shine bright.
Good write, sounds like a good sermon where most stayed awake.
Thanks Gold. Oh yes it was. And it really helped to have the main points on an overhead screen at the same time. Otherwise I may have just about remembered the 7 points covered.
orchi, here is what I figured out for hope:
H = Having
O = Optimistic
P = Positive
E = Emotions
Sounds good to me Fred. I'll agree with that!
