Dilly Dally Valley

Sky Prince Ireland

Down in the valley

Of pure dilly dally

A rabbit

He came to play.

Hippity hoppity

Now now now!

Down in the valley

Of pure dilly-dally

A horse

He came to play

Clippity cloppity

Hippity hoppity

Now now now!

Down in the valley

Of pure dilly-dally

A hen

She came to play

Cluckity cluckity

Clippity cloppity

Hippity hoppity

Now now now!

Down in the valley

Of pure dilly-dally

A rooster

He came to play

Cockadee doodlelee

Cluckity cluckity

Clippity cloppity

Frolic, no stoppity!

Cluckity cluckity

Clippity cloppity

Hippity hoppity

Now, now, now!

As they were frolicking

Tickity tockit

The gulls

They came to say,

You want us to beat you?

If not,

Please get away!

Helterly Skelterly

Lickity splickity

Beat it, you crazy bunch!

Hit the road bowsy

Get out of here nowsy

Before

We eat you for lunch!

So without waiting

Without hesitating

The four,

They ran fast pace

They ran

Helter skelter

Until they found shelter

And said,

We're now on base!

Cockadee doodlelee

Cluckity cluckity

Clippity cloppity

So and how. . .

Cluckity cluckity

Clippity cloppity

Cockadee doodlelee

OH WHAT A JUBILEE!

Cluckity cluckity

Clippity cloppity

Hippity hoppity

NOW, NOW, NOW!

. . . "Our turn to find you."

This is such great fun - welcome to MPS. I do hope you continue to contribute here - it's such an easy site and a friendly bunch if you participate and we do need more light hearted works here. I am not knocking the quality of the poetry here but It can get a bit doom and gloom at times

I enjoyed that, it reminds me of Hairy Maclary!
