Tune: St Fulbert
('Ye choirs of new Jerusalem')
Psalm 21 v.1-7
********
The Queen, she shall joy in your strength
O Lord, grant her at length
Your blessings still, prosperity
[And] All royal family
In your salvation lord shall she
Greatly rejoice, here see
You have given sure unto her
Her heart's desires secure
You heard her prayers, did not withhold
Them, kept her in your fold
Before her you went and did bless
With goodness, we confess
You set upon her head a crown
On evil does she frown
Asking you to bless in Anthem
National, you do bless them
E'en length of days, prosperity
Her glory great shall be
In your salvation, and shown free
Honour and majesty
For you have here made her most blest
Grant her your peace and rest
Shine evermore your countenance
On her, may she you sense
For she does trust in you, the Lord
Seeks to live by your word
Through your mercy, most High, may she
Never be moved, so be
Grant wisdom to all ministers
That serve her, may hearts stir
That your kingdom come, will be done
Through Christ's power, your Son
Rejoicing, platinum marriage
Years of grace, privilege
Seventy full years, true, unfeign[ed]
Faithful her glorious reign

And get that red carpet out for the cat!
Has that cat met our Queen's corgis?
And cucumber sandwiches? Or is that the Vicar's tea party?!
Thanks orchidee! Another uplifting work.
Thanks wc.
Great write for the Queen orchi. When I first read the title, I thought this was going to be about you and KP.
Oh yes AP, I thought of writing about that, then had second thoughts! heehee. But what rhymes with 'horrendous', 'ghastly', words like that? And what rhymes with 'botox'? lol.
Stupendous, nasty and boat rocks! ; )
Good write Orchi about an amazing man and lady.
Thanks Gold. We\'re of the patriotic band! We\'ve supported them since, oh at least 1066, and William I.
Even though I grew up and am living Queen-less, I can still appreciate your fine poem! Good job, orchidee, the Queen will be proud of you, and who knows, you might be knighted!
If so, I shall insist they call me Sir! And I want a horse too, as a knight! heehee. Then I shall have to eat humble pie.
