THE BIRTH OF SALVATION.

THE BIRTH OF SALVATION.

By Edward York

It is time again to celebrate,

All around the earth.

The arrival of the little king,

That came through virgin birth.

The bright star shone in the sky,

That helped to show the way,

For all those who came bearing gifts,

And those who knelt to pray.

He lay dressed in simple clothes,

For those who came to see.

And as he taught the world to love,

He knew what would come to be.

In a stable he could be found,

But still the people came,

Salvation lies in a manger.

And Jesus was his name.

His arrival had changed the world,

He had battles yet to win,

The only reason he was born,

Was to take away our sin.

With all the glitz and sparkle we tend to forget and are so wrapped up in the trivial things.

Thank you. We all just speak from the heart. It is the season of peace. I wish we could bottle feelings of good will and drop it out like bombs.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I wrote it last year and bring it back once in a while. I didn't affix a copyright to it. That just didn't seem right somehow.

With all the hoopla and commercialism we tend to forget the REAL meaning of Christmas. Your poem brought that back, lasergraph!

Thank you. With retailers looking for the almighty buck, it is nice we are able to push that aside, just for a few moments.
