Wipe your eyes my Brown child
No need to weep over the color of your skin
To be Brown is to be revolutionary Like raising your fist in the air in solidarity
For those who lost their lives due to racial disparity
Though you come from a realm where your people are hunted down like wild animals
You survived
Fighting to keep your dreams alive
War zone all around
Getting harassed by police just for being Brown
And despite all
Standing tall was thee
So when they look down on you for being Brown, remind them: Brown is the color of the chocolate that you love, Brown is the color of the very soil we walk upon
Brown is beautiful.

- Comment from author about the poem: Just alittle context: growing up I noticed that many of my peers did not appreciate the color of their skin. They are Brown and beautiful yet grow up hating themselves simply because of their color. So this poem is just to uplift the spirit of those who believe they are not beautiful because of they are Brown.
