I hear the trees groan as they fight for the suns light.
I hear leaves skitter along the ground.
Birds call out
I’m alone on this trail of life, but the wind pushes me along.
No, I’m not alone.
The rustling of squirrels in the brush.
Butterflies and insects fly by.
No, I’m not alone
Yet the creek is bare, it hold pearly white rocks
Each with its own story.
I’m here surrounded by nature
By wind,
The sun is high in the sky,
But wind greets me with open arms.
I hear the distant wail of a plane engine
The bark of a dog
But all are pushed to the background.
Wind guides me back home through instinct and memory
I consider leaving my mark,
No by showing I was here.
I would be tainting nature and the beauties it holds.
I leave glancing back only once,
No picture could hold what I see here today.
