Chains

Makenna.M

I almost took down my walls,
I almost showed you my heart,
But then I saw you,
I saw the real you,
He's dark and mischievous,
He plays with my mind,
He hides in the shadows,
He holds me captive,
I tried to run,
But the chains on my heart hold me back,
The lock is to big,
The key is to well hidden,
I yelled your name,
I yelled out,
I've been locked up for to long,
I'm not the same me with you,
My mind has been leeched by you,
Who am I?
Stuck in these chains.

Welcome FRIEND ~ Thanks for your first POEM ! You have shared a frightening (TOXIC RELATIONSHIP !) and sound advice ~ AVOID THEM ! It happens to MEN as well as LADIES and it does crush our individuality ! I am in a nice relationship now with my GF Angela (Please read my Poems). The way MPS works is: If you comment on other peoples Poems they will comment on yours and also you can build up a CIRCLE of FRIENDS by invitinem ~ as I am inviting you ! MPS is an empathetic and supportive site I trust you will get some feed back ! But remember you have to comment to get comments (Quid pro Quo !) I enjoyed the STRUCTURE and SUBJECT of your poem ~ It complemented my experience with a TOXIC LADY! More poems please ! Yours BRIAN (UK)
