It was time for Thanksgiving dinner
I was grateful for the food
But after I finished eating
I got the ol' Thanksgiving blues.
Different dishes on the table
Only tiny bits of each I chose
But once they came together
I got the ol' Thanksgiving blues.
I was grateful for the company
The company old and new
But after eating dinner
I got the ol' Thanksgiving blues.
In no time the dessert laid out
I didn't want to be rude
I took a taste of every one
Got the ol' Thanksgiving blues.
My stomach got so tight
Couldn't bend to reach my shoes
I went to bed with my shoes still on
And the ol' Thanksgiving blues.
I tossed and turned and couldn't sleep
It was then I surely knew
The only way to save myself
Was to have Thanksgiving poos.
Got up from bed and hobbled on
To the bathroom and paid my dues
And that dear friends is the only way
To rid the ol' Thanksgiving blues.

We don't celebrate it here in the UK but I recognise the dilemma - gave me a good smile this morning. Thanks for posting.
Sorry I did not write back sooner but I do want to thank you for your comment. I just posted another humour poem, "43", if you care to look.

Hi SunSearcher. Sorry I did not write back sooner to thank you for your comment. Not many humor poems I think. I just posted another humor poem, if you care to look, and hopefully smile. "43"
