Limerence

elliechanner

I thought I'd felt pain,
Scraped knees and bloody noses
But this time it was different.
Worse.
It wasn't physical, as such
But it hurt like it was.
The only time it would stop
Was once I'd finally fall asleep.
But when the night had passed
The pain would come rushing back.
Believe me when I say
I tried hard to not feel
To not care
But in the end it only made it worse
The more I tried to bury it
The more it wanted to resurface.
And I told myself
He's not yours
His heart belongs to someone else
And even if you caught his eye
You know it's not right
But still,
I loved him
And the hardest thing for anyone to face
Is the unbearable
Destructive
Heart wrenching pain
Of loving someone
Who doesn't love you back.
