Place the Stone

Brenda lee

Heart dont let me down, stay strong for just one more round.

Eyes please don't let me see you cry,oh spirt its time to grow wings and fly.

Sun for me wont you please shine, let a cool wind blow from time to time.

Rivers flow strong and true carry my pain away with you.

Oh mighty oaks please stand tall, lend me your strenth so I wont fall.

Clouds keep floating right on by,I don't want to see the heavens cry.

Earth stay firm beneath my feet I fear my legs are growing weak.

Ears cant you hear the lonesome dove? Shes calling to you from above.

Daisys grow where they place the stone

Oh mighty eagles please carry him home.

  • Comment from author about the poem: When my dog Grizzly died It felt like someone had just reached in and ripped my heart out. We did everything together, we were always together. We looked out for one another. He was my best friend and my heart. I miss him every day. I wrote Place the stone after he died and in my heart I prayed for the Eagles to carry him and protect him on his way home.
