Feeling Humanity.
You can see it
Every part of it
The contrasting colours of the sky and the soil
And everything in between
The effortless greys and the electrifying yellows
Clashing so violently
Yet so bewitchingly
You can hear it
You can hear the sound of every person
The resonance of hearts beating, racing
Even the footsteps down long, empty corridors
Or simply just people conversing in the street
You can smell it
The lingering redolence of every passing person
The pungent smell of freshly cut grass
Or even the dirt beneath it
You can be whisked away by the scent of the world
Just by breathing it in, even if only once
You can taste it
Everything and anything you could ever eat
The diverging flavours of sweet and savoury
Endless dishes and drinks, all around you
You can touch it
You can hold it in your hands
Have it on your palm
Poke, prod, pry
Just letting objects, people, be against you
And by god can you feel it
I mean the feelings under your skin, not touch, but feel
The entire earth just moving
Everyone living
You, living
And though it's impossible to explain
It's so easy to understand
Because feeling is the best part of all of this
Tasting, smelling, seeing, hearing, touching
are what we do
Feelings are what we have
Making us who we are
And in the end you'll realise
All those other things may give us life
But feeling?
That is what keeps us human.
