Tune: Hereford
('O thou who camest from above')
********
Flow Spirit free, flow from my heart
Illuminate my every part
That I worship in spirit, truth
Reverently, not rude, uncouth
Inspire, anoint, 'tis our desire
To join to sing like heavenly choir
And too each instrument be played
That your gifts, glories, be displayed
Work through each style and each approach
Of worship new or old we broach
Through our lives, personalities
We pray each in us the true Christ sees
To witness, to evangel, you tend
The lost sheep to bring in, them tend
Sharing your love and holy dove
Of your Spirit, them you encove (encovenant)
Going forth daily, word and deed
May others you in us see, heed
And come to know your salvation
Open free unto each nation
Give strength and help, persecuted
Soem they be, through still elected
By you, your power to each one
Who seeks to live as Christ the Son

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.8.8.8. Long Metre (LM), and a lovely rendition - cos I'm not in that choir! lol. Some hymns say for mankind to be silent. There are appropriate times for this, but hardly in a prayer before the start of a service. We should then praise, sing, at least make a noise. 'Hide' among the congregation if you think you sound like two cats fighting! lol. It does not matter if people don't 'see us' as it were, but rather they see Christ in us and through us.

The first two lines of this poem are just incredible, orchidee! Not that the rest is no good, au contraire, but it is these first two lines that spoke to me.
Thanks Fred. Also 'rude' can also mean bare, stark, etc, as in 'At thy cradle rude and bare' as the hymn says.
Another good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
Another winner, orchidee! I appreciate your gift.
Thanks wc. My gift of singing? Meowooowwooo! heehee.
