Roses are red, Violets are blue.
The sky as you can see, is in a bitter black and blue.
My dreams turned into nightmares
My nightmares into a harrowing reality
Locked within the walls of my own mind
Can someone get me out?
Does anyone even care?
Look, look there she goes again trapping herself within these walls
reaching out for help, that's not there
Please, can't you see it?
They are coming
Oh oh oh my demons are here
Little by little crawling inside my skin
Eating the pieces left behind of my vacant soul
Mirror Mirror you never lied to me before
I know you, my friend, would show me the cruel reality even if I hid away
you will show how broken and fragile I have become
you will show me how exhausted and worn out
this little heart of mine is
Am I free now?
Can I leave this world without tasting true freedom?
Should I fight for what has been taken?
Insecurity has never been my enemy but my closest friend
Am I strong enough to fight it?
But why should I if it is all I have ever known?

- Comment from author about the poem: I can not dwell on the thought of waiting for someone else to make me happy, I have to start with myself first before searching for someone else. Self-love comes before any other type of love.

A bit psychological this - and a long word there! lol.
Yes, we may not want to be free from some things, if they are all we have known, e.g. insecurity. We get used to them. Not that we are attention-seekers, etc. But deep down, in this case, it's best to know security I think. Now I've gone all psychological here!

You're welcome.. 🙂
Well written, Clarita! Thank you for making my poem 'You' a favorite! I meant what I wrote: YOU are special! Everybody is special!
If I learned anything in my 69 years in this world, it is that one has to fight. Your soul came here to accomplish something, whatever that something is. It is up to you to find out. So, yes, fight you must!
Thank you for reading my poem, I really did enjoy your poem. Life is beautiful and full of opportunities even when it seems otherwise. Therefore, there is a special place for everyone and everyone should fight to see it but most importantly enjoy it.
