Whenever I am down
I pick up something to read,
it fills my soul with
hope and desire distracting me
from this cruel realm of destruction
allowing me to dream of another entity,
my reality.
Reading fills my soul with
a mixture of emotions
letting me dwell of another life
that of someone who isn’t me,
but that who is my future self.
“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”
by:Vivian Greene
Self-explanation: Distracting yourself from the present and entering another realm that may help create your own desirable paradise. Life is full of difficulties(storm) and one must learn to enjoy(dance) life while overcoming these hardships(rain).

I love this
Thank you.
You Are So Welcome .
Clarita, books have always been my thing! As opposed to a movie where we get the impression of the director, with a book I can use my own imagination.
Your poem is very well written, and I do like the last stanza and especially the last line.
The only thing even better than reading a book, is to write, and that you do well. Have to make this a favorite!
Thank you so much for your kind words. There is nothing better than losing yourself while reading a good book. My imagination will take me to many different scenarios.
touching write, and the title is great
I love the quote by Vivian Greene. And your Self-explanation is also very encouraging. Thank you for sharing.
Great poem
Good write, yes you can lose yourself in books, I do very often.
