- Comment from author about the poem: This poem is a simple and short version of how I view one of my closest friends. Whom inevitably has become like a sister to me. This person has had to face unexpected difficulties during our friendship. Through her strength, perseverance and love for others she overcame them. Though the difficult times are not yet done and gone away with, she continues to push through them every single day with the power and strength that is embedded her soul.
