A new dawn

Aa Harvey

A new dawn.

When we all have virtual reality,

The next step in our technological evolution,

Will be to attain a sort of telepathy;

Where our mind is connected directly into the web

And then who knows what comes next?

Our brains will seek information along the information highway

And our thoughts will be uploaded directly into the internet.

We will create our own type of diary, the thoughts of us all;

Then the final connections will be made

And completely change our planet.

A new way of thinking and seeing things differently;

The olden days will fade away to become our history.

The robots will be born and humanity will grow lazy;

Spending more time in this new reality.

Our second lives will become our actuality.

We are just about to take one step forward for mankind

And our movements will be controlled, by the thoughts within our mind.

Our subconscious will be more prevalent than it ever has before

And upon us will be thrust a new dawn.

    I agree we are facing a new dawn, Aa. Whether or not it will be exactly as you describe remains to be seen, but it will be interesting for sure. Good write!

      Thank you.

      Renowned physicist Professor Stephen Hawking has said:
      "Every aspect of our lives will be transformed.
      In short, success in creating Artificial Intelligence, could be the biggest event in the history of our civilization.
      A super intelligent AI will be extremely good at accomplishing its goals and if those goals aren't aligned with ours, we're in trouble."

      "Work it harder,
      Make it better,
      Do it faster,
      Makes us stronger.
      More than ever,
      Hour after hour,
      Work is never over.
      Work it harder,
      Make it better,
      Do it faster,
      Makes us stronger,
      More than ever.
      Hour after hour,
      Work is never over.
      Work it harder,
      Make it better,
      Do it faster,
      Makes us stronger.
      More than ever,
      Hour after hour,
      Work is never over.
      Work it harder,
      Make it better,
      Do it faster,
      Makes us stronger,
      More than ever.
      Hour after hour,
      Work is never over..."

      Well written and intriguing. I too think we are moving towards the next shift, the next big thing, the next change. But if it will be a step forward or sideways....the future will tell.

        Erm, can you help me Fred?! The only new dawn I can see is the one tomorrow morning. Maybe I not quite got the hang of this poem - the theme, that is! lol.

          All things change. Nothing remains the same.

          "In the digital age, I'm feeling out done...

          So even if I can't read, life's a puzzle you see.
          I put together the things, that come easy to me.
          I've played with shapes for thirty years...

          In the last final days, I'm finding my way,
          Hoping I'd write a song a computer can't fake...

          So can the crayons and the colorful paints,
          They'll never set foot in the digital age
          And play the songs streamed on video screens.
          We don't need shows in a digital scene...

          So give up ...
          So give up ...
          Just give up ..."

            Yep, makes sense to me - If at first ya don't succeed - give up! heehee. Oops, a negative attitude. But some add: No point carrying on and continuing to look like an idiot! lol
