Tune: St Anne
('O God our help in ages past')
**********
Inspire us, O Lord, heart and mind
So may we in you find
Fresh grace and strength, and penitent
From our sins true relent
You who have bought us with a price
Your offering, sacrifice
Of yourself there upon the cross
Though human state was loss
For only you our help, our life
You give peace, end of strife
Make way that man to God may come
Through you, the Father's Son
On in each day, may we follow
And seek you more to know
You there to bless, to change us sure
More to your image pure
We have message to evangel
With a whole world to share
To those near, far, who yet not know
Do your salvation [them] show
Your grant your power, Spirit, dove
He comforts, shows your love
And too reproves of sin, leads right
To bring us to your light
Your righteous judgements e'er avail
They still to man prevail
Come save us, stir us, fervently
May our witness true be
