sweep me up into your arms
when I am paying no attention
pen a poem in my name
on the napkin in a restaurant
climb onto a table
sing a song that urges revolution
then dance me
on a pavement of promises
across the road
to make traffic stop
spin me around like an idea
you’ve just formed
make me feel that I’m right there
in a dream
with you
read me a chapter from the book
of your life that you are writing
show me the half-painted canvas
that holds an image of my face
hold me close against your skin
so I am one with your rhythm beating
then raise me
in the air on a whispered word
that I can fly
like a thought released
fluttered round like a desire
you’ve just encountered
make me feel that I’m right there
in the dream
with you

Frank...
I had to read this a few times! Each time I read it, it made me wish I was the one being spoken to! A great write!
