Damsel in Distress

I want to be her knight in shining armor
I want to kill any monster that would try to harm her
I want to be her gladiator and stay on my feet
I want to earn her rose and catch it with my teeth
I want to kill the dragon and climb to the tower’s peak
Free her from her cell in the dungeon’s keep
I want to be the warrior she summons when all hope is lost
I want to be the fire that melts away her frost
I want to be the magic she wields to fix all her problems
I want to be her stalwart iron-hearted Gollum
But the truth is I am the damsel in this story
And she’s the warrior that came to save me
I’m just a down on my luck wheat farmer
And she is my knight in shining armor
