OUR MANY YEARS TOGETHER

lasergraph

(c) 2018  Edward York

We've spent a lifetime together,

Our days have turned to years.

We've had our share of laughter,

And even shed some tears.

We've taken on each challenge,

But we've had a joyful ride.

No matter what the obstacle,

We've faced it side by side.

We had our share of worries,

And plans that failed to be.

And fears that brought us heartache,

That only we could see.

We always fought our battles,

And somehow came out on top.

No matter how strong our enemy,

We simply wouldn't stop.

Looking back helps me remember,

The feelings I can't hide.

If I ever go into battle,

I want you right by my side.
