Normality? (2008)

Syd

Normality is not a normal thing for me, to you I must confide

It reminds me of childhood memories, swinging on the swings and sliding down the slide

Normality to me is something unnatural, that does not come from the inside

It is forced upon us from tradition and the laws to which we all abide

Normality seems normal until you read between the lines

You see the cracks in our society but ignore the warning signs

Normality is not normal, just a sheet pulled over our eyes

It blinds us from the truth

That we are all individuals, and there should be nothing we are forced to hide

Normality is choosing the lazy river until you're nearly dead

Then looking back and wishing you'd chose the white knuckle ride instead

Normality divides the world

Those against us or on our side

So if like me you are abnormal

Do as you will, just for the thrill and hang on for the ride
