Dancing with the Dead (RK)

Lorna

How much can wishing

Make it so

When dealing with the impossible, I mean

You are dead and I alive

Can we still dance?

You a light and me an object

With the music something in between?

It is there enough to move us

But not enough to catch and hold onto

Johnny Rivers "Swaying to the Music"

One more time.

  • Comment from author about the poem: It was a hot August night after a day's work at a horse show and there was a tent party - next to a beautiful corn field and the corn was ripe and the moon was out - and I got asked to dance by such a handsome man....
