A Shallow Universe

marenmorabito

You can't choose what you fear,
though we wish we could.
In a world without fear,
only the fear of being fearful would remain
and the world would be shallow.

Thinking only of themselves,
people will fear nothing.
When it used to consume their lives,
day after day,
When all we could think about was what we were afraid of,
Now lost to the past that used to be our future.

Welcome MAREN ~ Thanks for your
first poem. Well written "free verse" with plenty of rhythm ! Interesting Subject ~ FEAR ! In everyday life. FEAR is important because it makes us cautious ! Without caution ~ sooner or later ~ we DIE. Fear is a natural and useful instinct ! Only FOOLS rush where ANGEL fear to tread ! Thanks for caring ~ BRIAN Please check my Poems ~ Thanks BRIAN (UK)

i sometimes get anxious and fearful about things which in the eyes of others is not fearful at all ... i think everyone fears something every now and then , every human being fears something .. great piece of writing .. even fear of fear itself is fear so we cant get away from it lol
