Tune: Binchester
('Happy are they, they that love God')
Deuteronomy Chapter 6 part
********
Lord grant us awe, heavenly fear
We sense that you are near
And to trust your laws, believing
They good, true be, each thing
For they do be your love's commands
Help us meet their demands
To love you, Lord God, with our all
Give strength that we meet that call
And too love of neighbour, whoe'er
We may in life here share
Loving our neighbour as our self
Shall benefit soul's health
Loving one another as one
As Christ for us has done
As He has loved us, so to love
Spirit help us, holy dove
So all laws they be summarised
There none greater besides
But to love, always love, it be
Now and eternally

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.6.86. Common Metre (CM). A recent tune, but I felt led to use it again here. You'll learn the tune by now! lol.

I have aimed to include three laws, as it were, and yet overall they are as one law (last stanza), i.e.
1. Loving God with our all.
2. Loving our neighbour as ourselves.
3. Loving one another as Christ has loved us.
Well written and expressed
Thanks Tony.
