THE WANDERING MUSE

Louis Gibbs

Hello, my muse,

Enjoy your vacation?

You were missed by all

Who appreciate the insights

Your poetry conveys to us,

The wisdom it imparts.

I, your faithful scribe,

Perhaps missed you the most

While you were cavorting with

Frost, Longfellow, and Thoreau.

So let us not be apart so long.

My pen went dry sitting in its well,

And as for myself, dear muse,

I've been bored as hell!

Yup - ideas do sometimes dry up. But I read avidly and usually find something in a book which triggers something if only a one liner. As for this - it's a super work which flows from start to finish .

      Many thanks, Michael!

You got some more cartridges for that fountain pen?! That what you mean - ink dried up?
Oh I see, your muse dried up! heehee.

Both, I'm afraid, 'O'. Think I'll switch to a ballpoint. Don't know if I can switch muses.

Very good! I'm glad you could write it!

Thanks, sr. It wasn't easy on my own.
