Shielded Safety

Tune: Winchester New

('Ride on, ride on, in majesty')

Psalm 91 v.1-9

*********

They who do dwell in secret place

Of the most High, of any race

Shall abide under His shadow

And His great protection shall know

I will say of the LORD that He

Is my refuge, my fortress be

He my God, in Him I will trust

Though I small, mean, and as mere dust

Surely He shall us deliver

And on us His blessings confer

From snare and trap and pestilence

He shall deliver, Him we sense

With His feathers He shall cover

And keep us by His mighty power

We shall come, trust under His wings

Safe in Him, songs each one Him brings

His truth shall be our shield for sure

He shall defend us evermore

We shall not fear, not day or night

He looks on us, we in His sight

Whate'er to be, what time of day

Or if be dark, we still shall say

That pestilence, destruction shall

Not harm us, we His mercies tell

A thousand may fall at our side

Or e'en ten thousand, a great tide

But it shall not come to us night

For we for refuge to Him fly

Only we shall behold and see

How outcome of wicked shall be

For God He shall them recompence

Though we secure in Him from hence

Secure in him we certainly are.

Thanks Gold. We know it does not mean we are wrapped in cotton wool - though we may like our comfort zones. But this psalm is all about safety and protection.
