Every year I come to the wall
Remembering the war of long ago
Peaceful calm I walk looking at names
Brothers and sisters who gave their lives
I touch the names of friends I have lost
Who fought for their country at any cost
I close my eyes as I touch a friends name
Ever since that day I'm not the same
Open my eyes to see Reflections
From the past staring back at me!
Friends who died, so people can be free
They touch my hand and smile at me
Angels in heaven- Their spirits free
I often question- Why am I here?
The courage they showed they had no fear
I will always find- their reflections
Deep seated always- deep inside my mind
